Since 2015, I have given over a hundred lectures to a wide variety of audiences, both academic and non-academic, in English and French, in person and online across Quebec, Canada, Haiti, Europe and the United States. As a researcher, I continue to invest in spaces outside of academia because these are the spaces that shaped me, but also because it is important to maintain dialogue with the general public. In my eyes, this position is part of the responsibilities and duties of social sciences academics.

My talks focus on different themes such as the meaning of justice for victims of sexual violence, the issues surrounding equitable access to physical and mental health care, the power of literature and words, the place of women and black and racialized people in the media or discussions around the profession of social worker, to name a few.

Here are some examples of organizations that have used my services as a speaker:

  • Marijan Haiti

  • Women and Gender Equality Canada (Black Employee Network)

  • Amnesty International Youth Congress

  • La Maison d'Haïti (Juste pour elles program)
